whisperoftheshot: To me this shows that god is our intelligence.  It is what separates us from the animals.  Just because this is a painting in a church doesn’t mean that it could not be an ironic work done by Michelangelo.  This could also be his idea of mocking the church and saying that their god is just an idea in their heads.  Or as it states in the title, it could just be a coincidence.
